The producer had asked for leave to appeal against his conviction over the killing of actress Lana Clarkson in 2003, for a second time in recent months, but has been told he cannot appeal again, reports BBC News.
Lawyers acting for the producer had argued that he was not given a fair trial as Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler prejudiced the case against him by allowing prosecutors to use a video of him explaining the details of forensic evidence to jurors, but a US court has rejected this assertion.
His legal team had previously asked for his original sentence to be thrown out on the grounds it was prejudiced by testimony from five women who claimed to be victims of gun-related incidents with the producer in the past. This was also rejected.
Spector was jailed for 19 years in 2003 after being convicted of Clarkson's murder. His lawyers have not said whether they intend to explore further avenues for appeals.
