'The Big Lebowski' cast reunite for Lebowski-Fest - video

The cast of The Big Lebowski reunited last night (August 16) to mark the release of the Blu-Ray DVD. Turning up at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom, to a crowd of almost 2,500 were Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, Julianne Moore and John Turturro.

Also in attendance was writer/producer Jeff Dowd, said to be the inspiration for The Dude's lackadaisical hero. You can view video of the actors talking about their experiences and love of filming The Big Lebowski in the video below.

Joel and Ethan Coen, the makers of the 1998 classic, were not in attendance

The launch party for the re-issue of the cult film coincided with the annual Lebowski-Fest, a yearly event in which fans of The Dude and company join to celebrate all things Lebowski-esque.

Started in 2002, The Lebowski-Festfeatures fans dressing up as their favourite characters, competing in trivia contests and, whenever possible, drinking White Russians and bowling.

Last month, The Dude's abode went on sale in Los Angeles for $2.3m (£1.4m) .

The Blu-Ray edition of The Big Lebowski is out now.
