Noel Gallagher has admitted that he wanted to mark the 20-year anniversary of '(What's The Story) Morning Glory' by performing the album in its entirety with Oasis in 2015.
The former guitarist said if the band had completed their 2009 tour and he hadn't quit, he would have made a fitting tribute to their 1995 album which has sold over 20 million units worldwide.
He also re-iterated his decision to leave the band at the time was something he regrets.
Gallagher told Absolute Radio:
It was a hasty decision I've got to say, and we could maybe have all gone off and done other things for a few years. In my own head the 2015, 20-year anniversary of'(What's The Story) Morning Glory' is looming and we could have maybe come back, made a new album and played that album in its entirety and gone and been the greatest thing ever, but there you go.
His comments come just days after former bassist Andy Bell hit out at Gallagher's version of the demise of their former band. 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds' is out on October 17.
