Pete Doherty set to dedicate festival shows to Amy Winehouse

Pete Doherty is planning to dedicate his sets at Reading And Leeds Festivals to Amy Winehouse, according to tabloid reports today (August 14).

Reports in the Daily Star On Sundaysuggest that the former Libertines man will pay his own special tribute to the late singer, with whom he was close friends.

A source told the paper:
Pete was really good mates with Amy and he’s still really cut up about her death. He hopes to help get rid of his demons by dedicating his festival gigs to her memory. He loved her music and hopes he can do it justice.

Doherty has previously admitted that the singer's death has hit him hard, saying ofWinehouse's passing:

I'm struggling with fucking everything because I'm so bewildered about what happened to Amy. I was in bed when I heard the news of her death. Someone had to wake me up to tell me. I couldn't take it in and still can't. Coming to terms with what has happened is almost impossible. It's hard to think she's not with us anymore.
Doherty was released from prison last month after serving two months of a six-month sentence for cocaine possession.

He could face a return to jail though, after he allegedly broke into a record shop in Germany and stole a guitar. If found guilty, he could face another five years in prison.
