The team which manage Michael Jackson's estate have called into question the staging of the tribute concert in Cardiff in October.
The estate have sent a letter to Global Live Events, the promoters of the concert, in which they accuse them of "piggybacking" off the singer's good name and express concern at how much of the concert revenue will be going to charity.
In a letter which has been posted on TMZ, they have also criticized the promoters for booking Kiss to play the event, pointing to the comments made by the band's bass player Gene Simmons.
Simmons has previously said of the allegations that Jackson had abused children: "Where there's smoke there's fire. There's no question in my mind Michael molested those kids. Not a doubt."
The letter states of Kiss' booking:
We were especially disappointed with the announcement that the band Kiss and bassist Gene Simmons were added as one of the acts to perform. Mr Simmons has made disparaging public remarks about Michael Jackson after his passing.
They also described the detailing of Simmons' comments in conjunction with the announcement in the media as "extremely embarrassing".
The estate have called on Global Live Events to answer their concerns and have also warned them that by using "intellectual property that is controlled by the Estate" – which includes images of the singer and his songs, they could face legal difficulties.
Christina Aguilera, Leona Lewis, JLS, Cee Lo Green, Smokey Robinson and Craig David are also set to perform at the gig, which is scheduled for October 8 at Cardiff'sMillennium Stadium.
